JUNING Unlocked Smartphones 5.0" Anroid 5.1 MTK6580

JUNING Unlocked MTK6580 Smartphone is a very decent phone consider the price of it. If I compare this phone with any other phones in the same price range, this phone will definitely lead the race without any doubt. We cannot expect this to work like a 200$ phone but this phone definitely worth each and every penny paid for this phone. The screen wakes up when you double tap the screen, this features is seen only in few higher end phones but it surprised me when I found this feature in this phone

Design: (4/5)
I have the golden color panel which is very appealing. Unlike other popular android smartphones, this phone has the mini USB charging port on the top. The phone can be comfortably used with one hand.

Power and Volume Up/Down buttons are placed at the right side of the phone like most of the phones. The buttons can be easily pressed with thumb when you use the phone.  It has a physical home, back and menu buttons. Loud speakers are placed at button of the phone.

Camera: (3/5)

The phone features a 5MP rear camera with flash which does a decent functionality. Front camera is features 2MP camera. Though the product specification says it has 0.3MP front camera, the phone has 2MP, I personally verified this with the photos I took with the phone.

Audio: (3/5)

The integrated mic and speaker is very decent for phone calls. The load speaker lags the quality of music and the volume I expected from this phone. The ear phone which came with the phone is not that good.

Battery (3/5)
I almost charger this phone twice a day with the regular usage without using Bluetooth/GPS. Bluetooth/GPS drains even faster. So make sure you carry the charger/power bank to recharge the phone. It charges with any micro USB compatible charger, so you need not always carry charger that comes with the phone.
Display:
The phone features 5.0" qHD Display (960x540) which does a pretty decent job. The display is bright enough to display images even in outdoor.

Connectivity: (3/5)
Bluetooth
The phone features a Bluetooth 2.0 which is sort of outdated, but still works well my Bluetooth headset. The Bluetooth connectivity is stable but it drains battery very fast.  Make sure you turn off the Bluetooth when it is not used.
Mobile network:
It supports dual SIM, SIM 1 slot supports MINI SIM and SIM2 slot supports Micro SIM. I used T-Mobile Micro SIM in SIM2 slot and it worked.
The specification says it support 3G with WCDMA and 2G with GSM network. I used the phone with T-Mobile GSM SIM which connected with 2G network as expected. I was able to browse web with 2G. It was slow but that’s how 2G works!

WIFI
It connected with my home WIFI network in no time.
GPS:
GPS connectivity is very stable and detects the location as soon as the location is turned.

Software: (4/5)
It runs on android 5.1 lollipop which is almost 1 year old. I got an Over the Air (OTA) update couple of days with a small patch. The system UI is simple and does provide a decent interface. It is not overloaded with any application like the one sold by mobile operator. Double tapping screen to unlock the phone is one impressive feature.

Overall performance: (3/5)

Battery being one of the major downside of the phone, overall performance is good. I installed third party couple of games and was able to play without any lags.  It has 2GB internal memory but only 900MB is available to user. So external SD card is required to add more memory to the phone.
