Dashboard and rear view camera

I am very impressed with this dashboard camera with rear view camera. The two in one functionality of this device is very helpful which saves from buying separate device for dashboard camera and rear view camera. The extra-large 12.6” width gives additional coverage of the rear view and the reflection is very clear. The center portion of the 12.6” mirror is displaying the front view of the car while driving and the same portion displays the view from rear camera when the car in reverse gear. The quality of the image from the front dash board and rear camera are excellent.  To me the most impressive feature is the rear view camera when the car is in reverse gear.

Installation:
The most challenging part is installation, it took me more than an hour to install it myself in the car including wiring. In one of the popular auto repair shop they asked for 99$ to fix it, so I tried to fix it myself and succeeded. To fix the rear camera in the car, you need to put two small hole near the number plate. Then connect the power wire into the rear light, so that the rear camera gets power whenever the car is on reverse gear. This needs extra attention as it involves dealing with electric wiring. Most tricky part is to run the rear camera wire into car and get it into front side. The main rear view mirror is powered by the car cigarette lighter socket.

By default the middle portion of the rear view mirror shows video from front camera and small portion of it also shows video from rear view camera. When the car is in reverse gear, it fully displays video feed from rear camera.

What could be better?

An option to hide the video feed from front camera when the car is driven is missing. Though the video feed doesn’t fully block the rear view through the mirror it does distract while driving. Apart from this is a great product for people who does not have inbuilt rear view camera.
